Kolkata, Oct. 27 -- In a major political development ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, over 500 leaders and booth-level workers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) joined the Indian National Congress in Murshidabad today.
Senior Congress leader and member of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury welcomed the new entrants, calling upon "all secular, educated, and dedicated youths" to unite under the Congress banner to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
