Kolkata, Dec. 5 -- More than 50 lakh names are set to be removed from the West Bengal voter list as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

The Election Commission will publish the draft roll on December 16.

According to current estimates, 52,99,663 voters will not figure in the draft list. Names of deceased and relocated voters have been deleted, along with several others for different reasons.

As per Election Commission data, 23,48,095 voters have been marked as deceased and their names removed. Another 18,55,302 voters have shifted from one address to another, leading to the deletion of their entries.

The draft list will also exclude voters classified as "missing".
