New Delhi, Feb. 11 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Wednesday that more than 15,000 children of construction workers have been awarded scholarships on the death anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.
Addressing a programme, the Chief Minister said that over Rs 12.40 crore have been released to support students studying in 857 schools across the national capital. The financial assistance will directly benefit the children of registered construction workers.
Gupta said that Delhi belongs to hardworking people who build the city with their labour, and the government is committed to honouring their contribution.
