Aizawl, June 23 -- As of May 2025, Mizoram has recorded 14,378 injecting drug users (IDUs), according to the latest data from the Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS).
Experts also expressed concern over the increasing use of cannabis among teenagers across the state.
The figures were revealed during a one-day seminar on drug abuse in Mizoram, organised by the MSACS.
Speaking at the event, MSACS Project Director Dr. Jane Rinsangi Ralte said that their latest survey shows a total of 14,378 individuals who inject drugs in the state. The majority of IDUs fall within the 18 to 42 age group.
Among the districts, Aizawl reported the highest number of injecting drug users with 5,986 cases, while Saitual recorded the lowest at 313. Of t...
