Aizawl, Jan. 13 -- Enforcement agencies in Mizoram have seized a large quantity of methamphetamine in two separate operations over the past few weeks, arresting five persons and highlighting the state's continued vulnerability as a transit route for narcotics trafficking.
In the latest operation, the Excise and Narcotics Department on Monday night seized 11.118 kg of methamphetamine tablets from Khatla locality near the Tennis Court in Aizawl and arrested two persons in connection with the case.
Officials said the seizure was made around 7.30 pm on January 12. The contraband, comprising about 1.20 lakh methamphetamine tablets, was recovered from the possession of Yahya Hussain (23), a resident of Jagannathpur in Assam's Karimganj district...
