Chandigarh, April 18 -- Haryana police has intensified its road safety campaign and issued a total of 10.14 lakh challans for traffic rule violations in the first quarter of 2025 from (January 1 to March 31).

This initiative by the police is a commendable step toward encouraging traffic rule compliance and reducing road accidents across the state, DGP Shatrujeet Kapur said on Friday.

According to data received from police headquarters, out of the total challans issued, 5.63 lakh were through CCTV cameras, 4.50 lakh via e-challan machines, and only 6 challans were issued manually. This clearly indicates that Haryana police is steadily moving towards making the challan system fully technology-driven.
