Aizawl, April 15 -- Thousands of employees engaged under centrally sponsored schemes (CSS) in Mizoram launched a three-day work boycott on Tuesday, intensifying their demand for regularisation of services.

The protest, spearheaded by the All Mizoram CSS Employees Coordination Committee (AMCECC), comes despite a recent warning from newly appointed Chief Secretary H Lalengmawia, who cautioned of "severe consequences," including termination of service, if the agitation continues.

Lalengmawia, who also holds the portfolio of Principal Secretary, said the state administration had already opened channels of dialogue with AMCECC and issued an official memorandum outlining procedures for regularisation in line with existing recruitment norms. "De...
