Shimla, Sept. 28 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has turned its spotlight on the One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme of the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, probing allegations of large-scale irregularities in loan waivers extended by the Kangra Cooperative Bank (KCB).

The scheme, originally intended to ease repayment burdens and reduce bad loans, is now under suspicion for being misused to benefit select businessmen and politicians at the cost of the bank's health.

According to sources, notices have been issued to several businessmen, including a prominent Palampur-based hospitality unit owner. The entrepreneur had secured a hefty loan of nearly Rs 45 crore from KCB for developing a luxury property but managed to settle the liab...
