Bhubaneswar, Dec. 16 -- A delegation of the Odisha State Power Consumers Forum (OSPCF) on Tuesday threatened to launch a statewide agitation against the additional security deposit (ASD) imposed by Tata Power on electricity consumers in the state.
The delegation submitted a memorandum to the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC), demanding the immediate withdrawal of the Additional Security Deposit demand notice issued by Tata Power Central Division Limited.
The Forum alleged that the ASD is nothing but a "Jijiya tax" imposed on common consumers and accused Tata Power of unfairly burdening electricity users across Odisha.
