Bhubaneswar, March 25 -- The Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) has successfully established market linkages, bypassing middlemen, to support Odisha's farmers.
In a significant move, tomatoes are being sourced directly from the districts of Ganjam, Cuttack, Anugul, Jharsuguda, and Jagatsinghpur through self-help groups and farmers' producer organizations.
As of March 24, 2026, ORMAS has collected a total of 128.30 metric tons of tomatoes under this initiative. The breakdown includes 53.00 metric tons from Cuttack, 33.80 metric tons from Ganjam, 20.00 metric tons from Angul, and 18.00 metric tons from Jharsuguda, all of which have been purchased by Bharat Masala.
