Bhubaneswar, July 31 -- The Orissa High Court has issued notice to the Government regarding the recent policy decision that empowered MPs and MLAs to recommend up to 15 most deserving cases of transfer of teachers belonging to elementary and secondary schools in their constituencies.

Though the provision is a one-time measure, which is applicable only for the current educational year, an aggrieved teacher had sought the high court's intervention stating that the school and mass education department has neither authority nor justification for the so-called policy decision.
