Bhubaneswar, Nov. 20 -- The Orissa High Court on Wednesday rejected a petition challenging the election of union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls from the state's Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency.

Pradhan, through his battery of lawyers, had filed an Interlocutory Application and prayed to the Court to pass an order for dismissal of the Election Petition filed by Dr. Subash Mohapatra challenging his election as LS member.

With the Court allowing the IA, the election petition filed against Pradhan was ruled null and void.

Pradhan won the Lok Sabha polls in June 2024 from the Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat, the political nerve-centre of western Odisha.
