Bhubaneswar, Sept. 24 -- The liver and both kidneys of a 43-year-old accident victim were harvested at the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar, and sent to different hospitals for transplantation today.
The victim, Bablu Dhal of Barada village under Tihidi block in Bhadrak district, had met with an accident near Tangi in Cuttack district on September 18. He was initially admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, and later shifted to IMS and SUM Hospital two days later. He was declared brain dead on September 22 while undergoing treatment.
Following this, Dhal's family members decided to donate his organs, saying that their gesture could help save the lives of other patients. The hospital authorities co...
