Bengaluru, Feb. 24 -- The Organisation for Rare Diseases India (ORDI) held the 10th edition of its annual awareness run, Racefor7, a 7-kilometer marathon aimed at raising awareness about rare diseases and improving access to medical treatment. This year, over 8,300 participants, including patients and caregivers, took part in the run across 21 cities. The Bengaluru run began at 6:00 AM from St. Joseph Indian High School Ground, flagged off by renowned actor Shweta R Prasad, with over 3,000 participants. Since its launch in 2016, Racefor7 has expanded into a nationwide movement, with this year's theme, "For Rare, Everywhere," symbolising its widespread reach across cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata.
