Ranchi, Dec. 21 -- Dense fog triggered by the impact of a western disturbance has severely affected normal life across Jharkhand, with conditions turning most critical in the state capital Ranchi, where visibility dropped to below 50 metres.
The fog has disrupted air, rail and road traffic in several parts of the state.
The Meteorological Centre Ranchi has issued an Orange Alert for dense fog for the next 24 hours in many northern and central districts, warning that visibility may fall below 50 metres at isolated places, increasing the risk of accidents. Districts under Orange Alert include Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Koderma, Giridih, Hazaribagh and Latehar. Yellow Alert has been issued for Ranchi, Ramgarh, Gumla, Lohardaga, Khunti, Bokaro, ...
