Chennai, July 31 -- In a minor set back to the BJP-led alliance in Tamil Nadu ahead of the fast approaching Assembly polls, ousted AIADMK leader and three time former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam severed his party's ties with the saffron party and walked out of the NDA today.

The NDA alliance in Tamil Nadu was led by the AIADMK with which the BJP had revived its ties for the 2026 Assembly elections and in a bid to form a formidable coalition to unseat the ruling DMK from power.

This was one of the resolutions adopted at a key meeting of his outfit, its spokesperson Mr OPS and Panruti Ramachandran told reporters.
