Agartala, Sept. 20 -- Former BJP minister in Tripura and sitting Congress MLA Sudip Roybarman today advised the state government not to skip the ongoing monsoon session of the assembly on September 22 owing to the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"I am sure, if the Prime Minister got to know that his party-run government in Tripura skipped the assembly session because of his visit, he would be annoyed," Roybarman told Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, in reference to the discussion in this regard on Friday in the assembly.

The assembly is meant for discussing people's issues and improving governance. It meets 4-5 times a year, and every day is earmarked for discussing specific departments. If the ruling party closes the day for the PM's...
