Shillong, Aug. 1 -- Calling for a stringent judicial oversight over the illegal coal mining and transportation in Meghalaya, Leader of Opposition and Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader, Dr. Mukul Sangma has emphasised that such cases should be monitored by the Supreme Court.
"These cases must be subjected to monitoring by either the High Court or Supreme Court, particularly the Supreme Court because the scale of illegality is not confined to Meghalaya alone; it has gone beyond the boundary of Meghalaya," the former Chief Minister told reporters on Thursday.
