Chandigarh, Aug. 9 -- Major political parties in Punjab turned the annual Rakkhar Punia fair in Baba Bakala, Amritsar, into a platform for political showdowns, with the controversial land pooling policy taking center stage.

Opposition parties, including Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), seized the opportunity to criticize the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government ahead of the upcoming bypoll in Tarn Taran, located approximately 40 km away, though its date remains unannounced.
