Bhubaneswar, Dec. 5 -- Heated exchanges rocked the Odisha Assembly on Friday as the Opposition lambasted the state government over rising unemployment, large-scale migration, and thousands of unfilled vacancies.
Participating in a debate on an adjournment motion, Opposition members alleged that despite over 2.35 lakh vacancies across government departments and thousands of youths leaving the state for jobs, the government had taken no meaningful action to address the crisis.
Responding on behalf of the Chief Minister, State Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan asserted that the government is committed to filling 1.5 lakh vacancies in the next five years through a transparent, merit-based system.
