Bhubaneswar, March 7 -- The Odisha Assembly was adjourned for the day on Friday without transacting any business as Opposition BJD and Congress members created a ruckus in the House over the shifting of Panchayati Raj Diwas from March 5 to April 24.

Amid slogan shouting by Opposition members right from the Question Hour, they protested against the government's decision, calling it an insult to legendary leader Biju Babu. As a result, the House failed to take up any business during both the pre-lunch and post-lunch sessions, forcing Speaker Surama Padhy to adjourn the House thrice before finally adjourning it for the day.
