Bhubaneswar, Dec. 16 -- The Odisha Police have launched a special statewide drive titled "Operation Dharapagad" to curb illegal drug trafficking and make the state drug-free.

The operation, conducted over the past few days, has resulted in the arrest of 40 accused persons and the seizure of narcotic drugs worth over Rs. 10 crore.

Police personnel from all districts actively participated in the operation, targeting the illegal trafficking of narcotic substances such as ganja, brown sugar, heroin, and cough syrup. The coordinated action led to the registration of 94 drug-related cases across the state.

During the drive, authorities seized 1,400 kg of ganja, 1 kg 650 grams of brown sugar, 133 grams of heroin, and 292 bottles of cough syrup....
