Patna, Aug. 25 -- The ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Bihar has witnessed a surprisingly low response from political parties, with the Election Commission receiving only 10 claims and objections so far.
According to Commission sources, all 10 claims and objections were submitted by the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) [CPI(ML)] through Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
The objections are currently under scrutiny. Meanwhile CPI(ML) state secretary Kunal accused the Commission of irregularities in the process, particularly concerning Booth Level Agents (BLAs).
He alleged that while party workers are filing claims and objections in large numbers, many of them are not being officially recorded.
