Ranchi, Jan. 7 -- An online money transfer facility has been introduced in jails across Jharkhand, including those in the state capital Ranchi, enabling the families of inmates to send money digitally.

The initiative aims to curb corruption associated with cash transactions inside prisons.

Under the new system, necessary bank details are being provided by the jail administration, allowing inmates' relatives to transfer money from home. This will eliminate the need for cash dealings, reduce the chances of bribery, and spare visitors from long waits at jail meeting gates.

The facility has been implemented in all major jails of the state.
