Guwahati, June 17 -- Deputy leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi has sought intervention of Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in an incident of gas leak at an ONGC installation in Assam's Sivasagar district.
The leak occurred on June 12 at Rig No. 147(A) and Well No. 135, located in the Rudrasagar oil field at Barichuk, Bhatiapar. Despite attempt by the ONGC to plug the leak, it is still continuing affecting about 1,500 people. At least 70 families have been shifted to relief camps.
