Chennai, Sept. 17 -- One woman was killed and four other workers wereinjured in an explosion at a private cracker manufcturing unit at KangalSevalpatti village near Sattur in the southern Virudhunagar district of TamilNadu, today.
Reports received at the police headquarters here said the workers wereengaged in mixing chemicals for making crackers when a fire broke outdue to friction resulting in the blast.
In the impact, one of the workers, idenitifed as Gowri (50) was charred todeath, while four others suffered injuries.
Police and fire service personnel along with Revenue department officialsrushed to the spot and shifted the body to the government hospital forpost mortem.
