Chennai, Sept. 17 -- One woman worker was killed and four others wereinjured in an explosion at a private cracker manufcturing unit at VembakottaiTaluk in Kangal Sevalpatti village near Sattur in the southern Virudhunagardistrict of Tamil Nadu, today.
The injured included four women.
Reports received at the police headquarters here said the workers wereengaged in mixing chemicals for making crackers when a fire broke outdue to friction resulting in the blast.
In the impact, one of the workers, idenitifed as Gowri (50) was charred todeath, while six others suffered injuries.
The injured were identified as Kalimuthu (45), Jayalakshmi (55), Megalai (40),Kumresan (30), Sivaranjani (48) and Mariammal (40), an official release said.
