Bhubaneswar, May 6 -- In a significant move to boost dairy productivity under the Go-Palan Yojana (GPY), around 1,000 high milk-yielding cows have been inducted into Odisha over the past three months.

This initiative, which supports farmers in acquiring superior dairy breeds, has gained momentum with cattle being sourced from other states-primarily Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Tamil Nadu.

The Go-Palan Yojana aims to transform the livelihoods of small-scale dairy farmers by facilitating the procurement of cows that yield a minimum of 10 litres of milk per day, with a subsidy of up to 70 percent on the project cost.
