Jerusalem, Aug. 24 -- As Israel continues with its plans to occupy Gaza City, Jerusalem believes that "one or two" hostages may be under "life threatening" circumstances, following US President Donald Trump's suggestion that fewer than 20 hostages are now alive.
According to Israel's Channel 12 television network, Israeli officials fear that several of the living hostages are in danger of death and in dire need of medical attention.
"Releasing the hostages is an urgent need," an unnamed senior official told Channel 12," reports Times Of Israel.
However, Israeli officials are as of yet unsure what caused Trump to say "a couple of them are not around any longer" during a press conference on Friday.
