Lucknow, Aug. 2 -- : The practice of adding names to organ donation certificates without follow-through is set to change, as the Centre is working to unify the diverse rules and regulations related to organ donation across states under a One Nation, One Policy framework.
To facilitate this, the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) has prepared a draft policy based on the consensus of all states and submitted it to the Government of India for implementation.
The draft recommends the adoption of a uniform national policy on organ donation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also highlighted this initiative in the 99th episode of Mann Ki Baat.
