Lucknow, Sept. 16 -- In the bustling commercial area of Kaiserbagh in Lucknow, an old Peepal tree suddenly collapsed onto nearby buildings and shops in the Machhli Mandi area today, killing one man identified as Ramu Dada, a fish vendor from Bengal, while over five others sustained injuries.
Rescue operations began promptly after the incident, with teams from the municipal corporation, police and local administration rushing to the spot. Fire department personnel had to cut heavy branches and free those trapped underneath.
The injured have been admitted to Balrampur and Civil Hospitals, while King George's Medical University (KGMU) has also been put on alert to handle any emergency cases.
