Pennsylvania, Feb. 23 -- One person was killed, five people were injured in a shooting occurred in a hospital in the US state of Pennsylvania, the attacker was eliminated, ABC News reported, citing local law enforcement.

According to the broadcaster, the tragedy occurred on Saturday. The shooter, Diogenes Ortiz, who had plastic zip ties and a gun, entered the intensive care unit of the UPMC Memorial Hospital and took several employees hostage.

The perpetrator shot a doctor, a nurse and a caretaker, who are now in stable condition. He also shot three police officers, one of whom died, the channel reported.
