Islamabad, March 21 -- A soldier was killed and 10 others injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) blast targeted a convoy of paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) troops in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province on Thursday, an official sources said.

The attack occurred around 12:55 p.m. local time (0755 GMT) in Kech district, a region that has witnessed sporadic militant violence in recent years, security sources told Xinhua.

Security forces cordoned off the area following the explosion, and the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
