Gonda (UP), Jan. 30 -- One inspector and 12 sub-inspectors were suspended with immediate effect on Friday in Devipatan division, after they were found prima facie guilty of irregularities and corruption in the preliminary investigation of accident cases.
Inspector General of Police of Devipatan range, Amit Pathak, said the action followed a report by a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The SIT was formed after complaints from insurance companies about serious irregularities in the investigation of road accident cases. Irregularities were found in 13 cases in Gonda, Bahraich and Shravasti districts.
