Chennai, April 22 -- An EMU coach derailed at Chennai Beach Railway station
while it was being shunted to the yard on Tuesday.
There were no injuries or casualties, Southern Railway sources said.
"Today, at 11:08 hrs, one coach of EMU while leaving Chennai Beach suburban yard
derailed. No casualty or injury reported to passengers/staffs", a Railway release said.
Senior officials of Chennai Division rushed to the site, and restoration work was carried
out in full swing.
Mainlines tracks were clear.
The cause of incident is under investigation .
There was no disruption to suburban or Mail/Express traffic and train services from
Chennai Beach ran as per normal schedule.
Restoration works completed at 1330 hrs, it said.
