Chennai, May 20 -- One person died of electrocution and four others suffered shock when the temple chariot of Goddess Draupadi Amman Temple, they were pulling, came into contact with a overhead high tension live wire in Chenglpattu district of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.

A large number of devotees were pulling pulling the chariot when the tragedy occurred.

When it entered into a narrow area, the top portion of the chariot touched an overhead high tension live wire, in which five suffered shock.

They were shifted to a hospital, where one person died and the other four were being treated, police said. UNI GV 1010
