Hyderabad, Jan. 28 -- A tragic fire accident during the Bharat Mata Aarti program at Hussain Sagar has claimed one life, with another person still missing.
Ganapathi, a cracker operator from West Godavari district, suffered 80 per cent burns when a mishap occurred on January 26 as crackers burst uncontrollably, igniting stored fireworks on two boats. He succumbed to his injuries at Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad, on Tuesday.
Two other boat operators sustained minor injuries but have been discharged.
Meanwhile, Ajay, a young man who jumped into the lake to escape the fire, remains missing. Rescue teams have been searching Hussain Sagar for two days as distressed parents await updates on the shoreline.
