Hajipur, Jan. 25 -- One criminal was killed while another was arrested during an
encounter with police near Tinpulva Chowck under Lalganj police station area in
Vaishali district.
Police Superintendent Gaurav Mangla said here today that during the patrolling
late last night, when police team asked a vehicle to stop, it increased its speed
forcing which patrolling party to overtake it after chasing for few minutes.
When vehicle of the patrolling party moved ahead to intercept the vehicle being
chased, criminals opened fire on police team which prompted police to retaliate in
self defence, resulting in encounter, he added.
