Chennai, March 8 -- On the occasion of International Women's Day (IWD),
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin on Saturday emphasized the need to
eliminate patriarchal attitudes and ensure respect and equal opportunities
for women in all spheres of life.
Speaking after launching various schemes for women and announcing a slew
of new schemes, including setting up of hostels for working women, to mark
the IWD celebrations here, he called for a shift in societal perceptions and
greater support for women's growth.
At an official function held in the city to mark the occasion, Mr Stalin handed
over 250 Pink autorickshaws to Women Self Helf Groups (SHGs) at a cost of
