Jammu, Nov. 3 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was today given a grand welcome as the annual Darbar Move officially opened in the winter capital, marking the return of the historic practice that symbolizes the administrative and cultural linkage between the two regions of Jammu and Kashmir.

The practice of Darbar Move resumed functioning in Jammu and Kashmir after nearly four years.

All offices in the Civil Secretariat shifted to Jammu as part of Darbar Move and reopened today in Jammu.

The Darbar Move was stopped by the Lieutenant Governor administration and has been resumed after four years by the Omar Abdullah-led government.

The people of Jammu, including traders, welcomed the decision of the government.
