Bhubaneswar, Nov. 17 -- Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) Chairman Justice Shatrughana Pujari called on media professionals to unite and organize themselves to address their own challenges.

Speaking at a function jointly organized by the National Journalist Welfare Board (NJWB) and central government bodies such as PIB, CBC, and AMIT, Justice Pujari criticized media owners for seeking independence through the Supreme Court while often neglecting the welfare of journalists.

"Media owners fight for the independence of the press, but rarely care for the journalists themselves," he said.
