Bhubaneshwar, May 4 -- The SUM Hospital at Odisha's Berhampur city has successfully carried out two rare and highly complex surgeries, offering new hope to patients who had earlier been turned away by multiple hospitals, officials said on Monday.
In the first case, doctors treated a life-threatening condition involving complete airway obstruction caused by severe tracheal stenosis. The patient underwent a highly specialised Single Stage Laryngotracheal Reconstruction (SSLTR), an advanced windpipe reconstruction procedure.
