Bhubaneswar, Aug. 15 -- A hardened criminal with a history of crime was arrested today by Odisha's Bargarh district police on the charge of looting Rs 11.63 cash from the functionaries
of a Panipanchayat (GP water users' society).
The accused D. Abhisek, resident of Pakalapali village of Ganjam district was nabbed in joint exercise with Ganjam district police.
A written complaint was lodged by Sri Kshipati Padhan, Secretary of Maa Samaleswari Panipanchayat, Ainthapali on July 29 alleging theft of cash amounting to Rs 11,63,000.
As per the complaint, Pradhan along with the Panipanchayat President, Dasarath Behera,
had visited SBI Barpali Branch to withdraw funds meant for developmental work. After
