Bhubaneswar, Feb. 17 -- The Commissioner of Police has taken a B.Tech student of KIIT University into custody after a third-year B.Tech student from Nepal died by suicide in her hostel room at KIIT University on Sunday night.
KIIT Director of Public Relations, Dr. Shradhanjali Nayak, stated that university officials immediately informed the police about the incident. Since then, the police have taken a male student-believed to have been in a relationship with the deceased-into custody for questioning.
It is suspected that the student may have taken this extreme step following a personal dispute or issue between them.
The incident has raised concerns among students from Nepal, prompting discussions with the university administration.
