Bhubaneswar, Feb. 24 -- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Odisha has arrested a prime accused involved in a Rs. 5 crore fraud under the pretext of doubling investors' deposits within ten months.

The accused, Dhanajaya Sahoo, was arrested on February 21 from Khairatabad, Hyderabad, under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, and 120-B of the IPC, along with Sections 21(1), 21(3), and 23 of the Banning of Unregulated Deposit Schemes Act.

According to EOW sources, Dhanajaya was produced before the 1st Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Nampally, Hyderabad, and later brought on transit remand to Bhubaneswar. He is scheduled to be produced before the Designated Court under the OPID Act in Cuttack on Monday.
