Bhubaneswar, June 14 -- The diarrhoea situation in Jajpur district has improved and is now under control, official sources said on Saturday.

Public Health Director Dr. Nilakantha Mishra stated that a total of 1,516 diarrhoea patients have been admitted to various hospitals in Jajpur district so far.

Of them, 1,306 have recovered, while 210 are still undergoing treatment and the doctors are hopeful that all remaining patients will recover soon.

The number of new patients admitted to various hospitals has decreased significantly, and no new areas have been reported to be affected by cholera, the sources added.
