Bhubaneswar, Dec. 28 -- The Chief Election Commissioner of India, Gyanesh Kumar, who arrived here yesterday on a three-day visit to the state, postponed all his scheduled programmes for the third day tomorrow and returned to Delhi this evening.

The CEC had to postpone its third-day programme after his father met with a major accident.

Expressing regret over his sudden departure, he said that Odisha's art, architecture, hospitality and natural beauty have greatly impressed him, and assured that he will definitely visit Odisha again.

As per the programme, the CEC was scheduled to preside over a meeting with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and address the gathering on Monday before his return to Delhi.
