Bhubaneswar, Sept. 17 -- The Odisha government has decided to initiate stringent action in accordance with the Motor Vehicles Act on the use of vehicles with unauthorized structural modifications, violating the law.
The State Transport Authority (STA) has issued a directive to all regional transport officers to launch a crackdown on such unlawful use of structurally modified vehicles in the wake of reports of modified vehicles involved in road accidents.
It has come to notice that a growing number of different types of vehicles, particularly those popularly referred to as DJ vehicles, are being extensively modified and operated in public places across the State of Odisha.
