Bhubaneswar, Oct. 27 -- The Odisha government will operate 200 midi electric buses over the next ten years to significantly improve urban mobility and city transport services. The state cabinet, which met here last night, approved the procurement, operation, and maintenance of these 200 midi e-buses on a Gross Cost Contract basis at an estimated cost of Rs.952.56 crore.

According to official sources, under Package VIII, 100 buses have been allocated, 25 each for Keonjhar and Baripada, and 50 for Balasore.

Similarly, under Package IX, another 100 buses will be deployed, 25 each in Angul and Jharsuguda, and 50 in Sambalpur.
