Bhubaneswar, June 6 -- The Odisha Cabinet on Friday approved the 'Development of Biotechnology' scheme to foster collaboration between industry, academia, and research.
This initiative aims to benefit society and unlock vast opportunities for biotechnology applications across various sectors.
Briefing newsmen after the cabinet meeting, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja said the scheme will be implemented for five years, starting from the financial year 2025-26 to 2029-30, with an estimated cost of Rs.1,113.50 crore.
He noted that Odisha is endowed with one of the most diverse ecosystems in the country and has
all the necessary ingredients to sustain and promote biotechnology for the welfare of society.
